China Palace, Prints
CHINA PALACE (My Mother’s Restaurant) is an installation of prints, framed by laser-cut cardboard trim and printed paper flower garlands, that combine photographs, print ads, and menu text from the history of the Chinese American restaurant operated by the artist’s family in the Midwest during the 1980s to 2000s. The installation was featured in Labor of Love at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art Portland State University, January 16 – April 27, 2024, curated by Alexandra Terry, Curator of Contemporary Art, New Mexico Museum of Art, Santa Fe.
